Job Type: Residential
Location: simpsonville, SC
Project Year: Early Spring 2012 (14 Week Project)

Dr. Batten's project started out to be a smaller job than normal, in which we were there to make repairs on their barn, but turned out to be a much larger project than expected overall. In the beginning, we shored up a large section of the barn (90 feet in length), installed new concrete footings, replaced a large portion of the rough sown siding boards, pressure washed the entire barn and restained it. After the completion of the barn, we proceeded to work on a 5-car garage where we installed new vinyl siding in the gable ends, the garage openings and the overhangs, built new interior shelving, as well as install new lighting. Following the garage completion, we moved over to the Batten's home to design and construct a new Trex deck off the master bedroom. The construction of the deck entailed two large steel support columns and a 30 foot I-beam, which were helpful in supporting a cantilever design over a small fishpond below one corner.
